CLAY AIKEN'S march to Washington may have just got a little easier. The guy running against him in the Democratic primary in North Carolina DIED yesterday.
His name was Keith Crisco, and he was 71 years old. There's no word on the cause of death, but supposedly it was sudden, and happened after he fell down.
Clay and Crisco were battling for the right to challenge Republican incumbent Renee Ellmers in the November election. She represents North Carolina's 2nd District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
At the time of Crisco's death, he was trailing Clay by just 300 votes. Final results were expected sometime this week.
After Crisco's death, Clay Tweeted, quote, "I am suspending all campaign activities as we pray for his family and friends."
